Craftsmen Developers Appoints Kristian Thompson as Partner

Craftsmen Developers, one of the region’s leading land development firms, has promoted its Vice President of Construction Kristian Thompson to Partner. A second-generation builder, Thompson has more than three decades of commercial and residential experience in the Baltimore/Washington area. In his new role he will oversee all project management for the company.

“Kris is a proven leader in the development community, and a highly valued and respected team player,” said Dennis Gilligan, Craftsmen Developers Founder and President. “His knowledge of and familiarity with the processes by which we create neighborhoods is one of the reasons Craftsmen has been able to not only sustain itself but also earn the stellar reputation we have come to enjoy despite the volatility in our industry.”

“Kris and I have maintained a professional relationship for nearly two decades. Our decision to invite him to become a partner of Craftsmen Developers was driven by his tenacious pursuit of the creation of award winning residential neighborhoods. He’s smart, he’s loyal, and we happily welcome him aboard our two-generation company,” Gilligan added.

In 1996 Thompson joined Gilligan Development as Vice President of Construction overseeing commercial construction and land development operations. He was part of the senior management team that organized Gilligan Development’s sale to Technical Olympic USA, and became VP of Land Development for the Baltimore Division.

Thompson rejoined Craftsmen in 2009 and, in addition to other duties, oversaw all of the company’s field operations. Thompson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional and member of USGBC.
